Ricard Javier, the Seneschal
Beauty 3
Courage 2
Cunning 3+1
Prowess 2
Strength W
Wisdom 4
Aspects:
Reputation: Match-maker
Advantage:Daimyo Lord's Favour
Name Meaning: Javier means "the new house", and Ricard is always thinking of new and non-traditional means of solving problems.
Age: 3
After the death of the previous seneschal in battle, the Lord Sepia overlooked many older and more distinguished members of his retinue for a replacement, instead choosing the young and almost entirely unknown Ricard Javier. Why the Lord made such a decision is a frequent target of gossip amongst the more sticky-beaked members of the court - from his arrival in the court, the Lord Sepia had shown much favour to Ricard, but making him his right-hand was a minor scandal.
House Javier itself is scarcely a House in itself; a few acres of land near the coast are all that the Javiers can call their own. Ricard's great-uncle was the one to have founded the house and become landed and titled. Richard himself is the third son, nowhere near succession, and thus his move to the Sepia court to make his name.
Whatever the reasons might have been for his being granted office, Ricard soon showed his worth and capability to think outside of the established order of things. It was through Ricard that the negotiation of marriage between the two warring houses was established, a bold move that brought peace after three years of warfare.
