Hey, so if you guys want to collaborate some (and you probably should) here is a thread for you to jump in and call dibs on a Skin and talk about what you're thinking. Maybe talk about ideas for background, family, personality -- generally just kick ideas around and get feedback from others.
I know that Keith is gonna do the Queen (last I heard), and Simon is debating between Serpentine, Angel, and Selkie. I know Erik was thinking Infernal (last I heard), and JT was considering the Ghoul and the Selkie. So wow, you guys should sort that out.

Okay so,
My dilemma is choosing between the Ghoul and the Selkie, as Alfred has mentioned. On the ghoul side, I was thinking this cool cat named Silas McCoy who was brought back to life through the workings of a mysterious Shadow Person that now takes up residence inside his soul and makes Silas all thirsty for people's fear. He's really into urban legends and creepypasta and stuff, and even before he died he loved scaring people. A real Spooky Scary Skeletons type.
As for the Selkie side, I'm thinking someone who came from the deep and now has no idea that he's actually the littlest horrorterror (because there was basically no way I wasn't going to play with the flavor of the Skin so I could have my were-squid) but he has weird dreams about the ocean and...I haven't gotten as far on this one but I think I could come up with something.
The cons of playing my Ghoul is that he feels a bit out of place in Florida. The Midwest or Northeast, sure, not so sure about the Land of Seniors and Everglades. Could still work though. The con of playing the Selkie is that I'm pretty sure if I make one more ocean-related character Alfred is going to do an acrobatic fucking pirouette into the abyss.
Hmm.

You sound a bit more into the Ghoul. And you could definitely fuck with more people as a Fear Feaster. Considering I'm probably gonna go Infernal. You could either help in my schemes , go higher on the food chain and try to fuck with me or do both! Keith will also have whole cadre of hs girls and simon his fears of not fitting into human society. For the record, the Infernal would PROBABLY work better in blues country but I don't think it's that big a deal..
The squid one could be interesting because you and simon could be semi-kindred spirits.

Well, after consulting with several silver oracles I have decided on playing the Ghoul. Let the fear harvest commence! What sorts of schemes do you have?

Trying to figure out the specifics of that. Let's just say odds are they would be very misaimed and would backfire in his face.

I mulled over my choice and have come down to a flip between the Selkie and the Serpentine. I like the playbook of the Serpentine a whole bunch, but I am "feeling" the Selkie more, as something I'd want to try playing. I'll have some lunch and make a proper decision today!

I'm totally sticking with the Queen. Should have her (in beta form, I guess) up tomorrow.
I know some of you pretty well, but some not at all! Can we figure out our lines and veils for this? (jesus fuck that was the most hipster question i've ever asked)

For my part, I can't think of any lines I have -- but that's just because I think they would undermine an important part of what MHs is. That said, I treat sexual violence with a veil -- if it comes down to sexual violence for some reason, time to cut away, ya know? I guess I feel that way about excessive gore to, but I'm willing to be a little grim about violence.
Regardless, I have no intention of disrespecting any of your feelings or concerns or what have you. You have my respect as players and people.

I don't really have any lines and/or veils, I guess!
Late edit: I've created both a Serpentine and a Selkie with some basic fleshing beyond the raw mechanics, and I can't decide which I like more. Once I see you other jerks I will probably lean towards one concept over the other.

So, here's a quick pass at my Queen Bee.
I'm picking "firstborn of the hivemind" as her origin. I want to say she's some millenia-old thing that's existed in different forms throughout the years, hopping from host to host. I'm likening it to Pennywise the clown from IT, where he was just this nameless evil from beyond space and time, but found a permanent residence in Derry.
She's had many brainslaves over her time on earth, different cults, schools, gangs, etc. I don't know if she has some kind of ultimate goal with it all, or if she's just existing, but I do figure that when she hops to a new host (which can only be done upon death of the first host, meaning selection of future host is an important consideration), she doesn't really take over so much as she just adopts their personality and alters it a little. Starting with infancy, she doesn't even have the power to emerge until, well, until the age all our characters are in. She needs the brain to develop past a certain point, first.
I think that fits in with the theme of the game, and the whole metaphor of "monsters / teenage changes," where it's not only the human, but also the what-the-hell-ever inhabiting her brain that is learning, changing, growing.

Very interesting. So still a teenage girl, but maybe a little more predatory instinct over time?

That Queen sounds spooky- awesome. It actually sounds vaguely similar to what I want to do with my Ghoul. Silas was on the brink of death when a shadowy entity offered him a second chance at life, if only he would let it inhabit a corner of his soul. As far as limits go I would shy away from sexual violence (veiling it over is fine). That's the only one that comes to mind though.

Gender-wise, so far we're looking at one girl and two guys? I am trying to decide if I want to be that dude on the internet who roleplays a girl (again) or not, since sometimes it can be a little weird (all offense intended, Keith).

Fuck you, simon.
The Witch character I had in mind was a typical alt-teen pagan vegan pansexual otherkin with a tumblr account, and she was fucking stupid but was going to be living out her last few months off of a settlement before going to find an actual job / life.
The Queen is strictly into cocks, though, guys (until the game makes her change her mind). So if you want fuck my The Queen, you better have a cock.
this is the worst post i've ever made
