Good discussions going on here. Keep it up! Once you've sussed out enough, make a new thread for your character to live in. Give me however much background you want (I know I hate writing background) but know that I will be throwing questions at you as well!
Also, don't forget to download the map of Venice, FL and add a feature to it, ya noobs. You're building the town -- it's important.

So my idea for the Infernal is based off the “legion” background though I’m not quite sure it fits, it would sort of be a soul collective using the Infernal as a conduit or vessel to affect the mortal world. The basic concept was a power dynamic where the legion (the damned or whatever they are) is strong because of their numbers and perhaps some have disproportionate strength compared to others but they all basically need this Infernal when it comes to acting in the Real World. So there would be this co-dependency especially when the Infernal runs into trouble in his life or trouble is orchestrated for him. I also figured it allowed for various figures with different agendas to potentially be thrown at the character. Like you can have the sympathetic dead kid, some bizarre guy who talks through stuffed animals (think I got this idea from Akira), a seductive girl, a brutish brit or god knows what and each has their different approach. Some could be good and some could be very vile. And there is potential that he is being mind fucked with the whole time and they are all the same entity.
My idea was the souls basically have freeway straight to his mind. So they can fuck with him whenever they want. So he can’t ignore their calls. He can try to abstain, but they’ll just keep fucking yelling in his ear or whatever. Even if there are nice ones who would let him live his life, odds are the king in the collective or the thugs. Someone would want something done or try to bring him back to the fold.

In terms of examples/influences : think Frank in Donnie Darko, Dark Passenger in Dexter and Frighteners.

So, given that the Queen occasionally dreams of unmaking the world, Silas has a dark stranger in his head, The Infernal will be hearing the voices of Legion, and Colleen doesn't even come from this culture -- I get the impression you're all either in the same special placement or remedial class, oooor you all have standing appointments with the school therapist.

I like this arrangement very much. I think therapist makes more sense personally; would the Queen's parents really let her stay in a remedial class?

so yeah I think my character description is a bit rushed, apologies. If things are moving at a snail's pace- I'll clean it up a bit. I suspect I included some things that would be better left for Alfred to ask me e.g. "What is it like when the gateway opens?"
It felt like a good segue at the time, but like I'll said I'll mull it over. Sadly few other things to do.
