so this is curiosity on my part, since I was a bit confused by the "valley of shadows" meaning when I read adam's character. And then I looked up the last name Adrente and apparently that is popular for HoTb so i assume that is a house name and people apply a bunch of different meanings to it, but they also apply different meanings to given names. Including ones that exist in the real world.

Is it really just applying whatever meaning more or less? Like I saw someone having Abele mean "I do not forget". When the closest meaning is "breath". Also someone had Alexai (basically Alexei) as "The hand and the sword" when the closest meaning is "Defender" or helper" ...closer but still :I .

So if wick is all for making up meanings it would kinda follow with that whole Hayate meaning "smooth"

Yeah, in Houses Adrente is the House of the Wolf name, and its motto is "my weapon is myself." In Houses of the Blooddd you have a name, you make up a meaning, and get dice if your names can apply

I am fine with using real names and real meanings for my jerk

Maybe I should mention House Javier's background in my bit, since we have House Sepia and so forth in play

Ps. Same goes for House Adrente and (Junior) House Mane if you guys want: three facts (seriously, three. If you want to imply things with names or stuff that raises questions, okay, but no run on bullshit sentences).

Okay, so, now that I'm off from work. Yeah. If you wanna help me out, go ahead and detail your personal Houses with three facts (maybe what kind of Lord is in charge, their motto, maybe just that their land is awesome or shitty, or whether they've sworn allegiance to House Sepia or something else about the political landscape or something completely off the wall like there's a haunted castle and monsters).

I'm going to ask a question or two in your threads, but I'm actually gonna start working on running the game. It might happen tonight or tomorrow, but it may be as far off as Wednesday/Thursday because I'm getting slam-hammered at work. It's gonna happen though.

We're gonna start off with a thread to govern actions for this Season. See, while you guys can use your Holding's actions just fine and dandy, all of the Lord's actions are mine to choose cause he's an NPC. So, we're going to ease into this game with some role-playing and me showing you the dice rolling in action.

It'll be a meeting of the little council going into Spring, and you'll be trying to convince the Lord of what he should do this season. It'll be a short, relevant tutorial thing.

So if we know about other jerk houses, do we have the escalating war thing with them? I know you've said that mechanic will be paused with the Adrente, but I wasn't sure if we'd have that in play of you introduced other provinces in the pre-game

Also: Erik, your sigil design is super neat, I take it you actually made that from scratch and in a proper graphic design program? I am slumming it up with GIMP and modified clip art, so I am super jealous
